June 30: Meteor Day

Imagine a baseball speeding along at 30,000 miles per hour with thousands of particles trailing along behind it...and it's traveling right towards you! Meteor Day is celebrated every year on June 30th. Our research team found that a meteor impacted Tunguska, Siberia on June 30, 1908 around 7:14AM (the likely origin of Meteor Day). And according to a favorite movie of ours (Armageddon), "It happened before. It WILL happen again." (Is this really something we should be celebrating?)
