In celebration of X-Ray Day, we thought we would take you back to that pivotal moment in history when a guy in a laboratory, using his wife as a guinea pig, made the miraculous discovery!
It was a dark night in 1895, a guy named Wilhelm asked his wife, Bertha, to place her hand on a photographic plate while he directed rays at it for fifteen minutes. She was taken back and somewhat frightened by the first X-Ray plate of a human hand! She felt like it was a premonition of death. Unfortunately, due to what we feel was probably over exposure to radiation (nothing slips by us!) they both died of cancer.
Way to go Bertha! Sorry about the radiation!
